Diana's Blossom Cowl Finished

As promised, here is are pictures of my cowl. I actually have a few yards of the Malibrigo Silky Merino left as well as one full hank. There was a nominal amount of the Baby Merino Wool used.

I also added the shell design to the chain stitch edge for a better finished look. I really like the cowl. It is sooo soft and the addition of the pink flowers makes it very feminine--a nice touch of Spring to wear during the winter months!
Once again, thank you Andrea for the lovely yarn and Interweave Crochet Accessories magazine!!  I have socks on my mind now, so I think that I will peruse the internet and see what I might like to cast on.

Have a happy Friday.

Mmm Mmm Malibrigo!

In an earlier post I  showed a picture of the beginning of my  Diana's Blossom Scarf.  I pulled it out this morning and decided to make mine a cowl instead.  I chained 100 stitches, joined in the round and it is well underway.  The Malibrigo yarn is wonderful,  and the simplicity of the pattern, makes for a  quick project.  I anticipate that I will finish sometime today.  Oklahoma City is now warm during the day and cool at night, so this lacy cowl will get much use throughout the next months.

I hope to show a finished object pic tomorrow.  I don't know of  anything that would hinder me from getting this done today, so let's just count on it!

Have a terrific Thursday!

Diana's Blossom Scarf - The Beginning

Well, I have been inside since Monday.   Oklahoma City is pretty much on "lock-down."  It is snowing right now and the forecast states that there is more to come.

All of this snow, ice, and bitter cold caused me to think of  my lovely Malabrigo yarn and crochet scarf pattern that I won from my blogger friend, Andrea,  over at Life On Laffer.  This is her very own published pattern. Go Andrea!!  I don't know who the heck Diana is.

The Malabrigo yarn is scrumptous.  Sooooo soft.  I can't imagine that anyone would have problems with it being scratchy.  Although people with wool allergy may still have a problem.  All of my life, I have been allergic to wool.  I couldn't  walk by it in the stores even.  My eyes would start to burn.  My tongue would itch.  My throat would threaten to close (just a little).  If I touched it, my skin would burn like fire had touched me.  That all changed when I started knitting.  I told myself--"Self, you are not allergic to wool".  I believed myself and now I am knitting with this lovely yarn.

Drink lots of hot chocolate and stay warm!

I Won!

My blogger friend Andrea over at Life On Laffer has designed a lovely crocheted scarf and has been published in Interweave Crocet Accessories.  In celebration she, hosted a giveaway which included a copy of the magazine and two yummy hanks  of Malabrigo silky merino and 1 hank of Malabrigo baby merino wool.  I can no longer say that I never win anything.  I am very excited to crochet with this yarn because I have heard read only good things about it.

I actually received my package last Friday, but with knit orders, divider orders, church activities, and kid activities, not to mention just trying to run a household, I have been pretty busy.  Although busy, no less grateful.  Thanks again Andrea!!

I just completed a local order for my dear friend Ivy.  I think everyone who has read this blog with any consistency knows who Ivy is.  I mention her often.  She is an "often"  part of my life.  Is that a valid sentence?

This outfit is for a little boy to be named Taylin.  I hope that his mother appreciates the gift of hand knits.

.
It was a bit challenging, but I think that I was able to match the onesie embellishment with the ribbon, which is what I usually endeavor to do.  More knitting to do!  Have a stupendous weekend!!
