Shamefully Shameless

Having a Ravelry account will definitely make you aware of how long it takes to complete a project. Attaching dates, well, it can make one feel ashamed. Almost. Since these are my own socks and it's 106 degrees in Oklahoma City, was there really any need to rush? That is my justification for this pair of socks. Let's wait and see what I have to say about the next pair.

Anyway, I'll just move along to my thoughts regarding the two-at-a-time toe-up socks. I really like the figure eight cast on. I also enjoyed working the knit in the front and back loop increases. It wasn't until I knit, tinked, and re-knit the short-row heel that I became a hater. But, that was easily resolved 'cause I simply separated the twins.

Regia Crazy Color,Size 2 Knit picks Circulars,Toe-up two-at-a-time

After separation all went well...until I put them down.

I finally picked them up found them and got them completed. I still have to weave in the ends. By the way, Jenny's surprisingly stretchy bind off is a winner!

Just wanted to show a back shot with orange across the bind-off. The front of both socks has the jacquard print. I appreciate how Regia's yarn will make identical socks. Sometimes it's necessary to start at the end of the ball on one and the beginning of the ball on the other, but that's no big deal. With this pair, I had to cut off quite a bit to get them to match up. I'm weird like that. I don't like strangley shaped pancakes (round, please) and I insist that my socks match from the cuff to the toe.

Keep reading. I'll be hosting a giveaway soon.

Have a happy day!!

  3. I love your socks!

I like knitting socks this time of year, because they're small and lightweight, not a lot of wool on your lap. I have no desire to wear them now, though. Nothing but flip-flops for me in this 100+ weather. I'm in northeast Texas, so our temps are probably similar. It's too hot for man or beast out there!
