Ignorance Is Bliss

There is a knitwear designer named Debbie Ware whose work I have admired for years. Sometime during my early knitting days, while at my LYS I noticed her little kits that included yarn and the pattern for the cutest little baby hats. It was also around that time that I came across Tahki Cotton Classic yarn and I bought about 6 hanks, some of which I am just now starting to knit with.

During the past few weeks I have been scourging the internet for Cotton Classic. I perused through Ebay as well as yarn stores and, of course, Ravelry. I have had in my possession for a few weeks, unbeknown to me, a cone of Cotton Classic purchased from an Ebay seller who was none other than the before mentioned knitwear designer Debbie Ware. What is even more interesting is that on Monday I went to Gourmet Yarn Company and looked at one of those little kits because they always catch my eye.

It wasn't until yesterday, while looking on the internet trying to find out just what color is this yarn that I've purchased. I thought that it would be a somewhat darker green as the color was described as Chartreuse. My cone of yarn is pretty lemony. While searching with the yarn color number Debbie Ware's site came up and I thought, hmmm who did I purchase this yarn from? The funny thing is that I was wheelin' and dealin' with that Ebay seller and I tell you that I NEVER would have done so If I had known who it was that I was dealing with.

She was very kind and went out of her way to give the yarn to me at the price that I requested and she even went further by taking it off the bidding floor so that I could have it. Thanks again Debbie!
I have loose plans for this little hat. I'm just kinda letting the mood dictate what is to be done with it. I may put earflaps...I may put a brim...I may put a pom pom at the top and be done. We shall see. I'll post pics of the finished hat.

Have a super day. This is the day that the Lord has made...we are to rejoice and be glad in it!
