Little Daniel

Let me introduce you to Daniel Jared Brown III, who so fashionably wore his little knitted sack home from the hospital.  I also made a matching hat, but didn't get a good shot of him in it.  He is precious and we (my girls and I) anticipate many days of kissing sweet little cheeks.

I definitely recommend the pattern-- (link was given in earlier post).  The item is useful and practical, and it doesn't hurt that it is a fairly quick knit.

Baby Sack

It's easy to see why fellow Ravelers enjoyed this pattern and many have stated that they are sure to make it again.  There are, however,  some areas in which you are left to figure it out on your own.  Anyone who has made a sweater (especially one with a placket)  could figure it out easily enough.

I thought that I'd "push" the "easy button" and use snaps and faux buttons as it were. If I ever make it again, I would go ahead and make the button holes. Using snaps causes you to spend more money, and do more work.  Sewing them on was pretty time consuming.  Each snap has 6 stinkin' holes around it and you have to sew two pieces for every snap.  It turned out well and I'm happy to have a finished item this many days out from the shower.

I plan to make onesie cookies for the shower, I guess I will have to take them off of my "I'll Never Do This Again" list. LOL.  Just the reason, I try never to say never.

Ten More Inches

This has been a week filled with lots of activity and very little knitting.  A friend was involved in a car accident over the weekend and has spent the week in my home.  She is doing much better and actually went back to work today.  

The knitting goes pretty quickly once you start knitting in the round.  I elected to use snaps underneath the buttons rather than make buttonholes, and went out and got those items this morning.  I plan to work on it this evening and most of tomorrow.  Furtunately for me, the baby shower is actually next weekend, as it is scheduled for November 5.

I will show the finished object pictures next week.

Mrs. Brak's Baby Sack

I will be hosting a baby shower next weekend and wanted to knit something for the baby.  I put this pattern (Ravelry link)  in my Ravelry favs sometime ago.  I wanted to do something different, and I thought I'd go with it.  The pattern is very simple and includes much stockinette.

I've just completed the raglan increases and will now settle into mindless knitting.  I just hope that I don't get bored with it because I would like to get it completed by Thursday.  Since I am hosting, there is much other work to do regarding the shower and I can't afford to put all of my time and effort into the baby sack.  Did I know about this shower that I am hosting some time ago?  Do women not carry  children for 9 months?  Of course I did, of course they do.  Maybe it just doesn't mean as much to me unless I wait until the last minute.

I will set a daily goal.  Maybe 15 rounds a day?...
