It's On and Click Clack Clickin'

I finally started the knitting on the Ladybugs and Lizards Children's Boutique order.  They have requested 5 hats, 3 pair of booties, and one pair of mittens.  They just want to see how the items will move, and so, it may be, that subsequently they will place another order.  I am having fun  with it.  They have requested certain colors, but have pretty much left the design of things up to me.

This hot pink/chartreuse set is just about finished, although I have not yet knit the shoe bottoms.  After that is done, all of the pieces just need to be sewn and I can mark this one off the list.

I plan to start the hat for this set today.  It will just be a green/blue striped hat with a crocheted brim.  As you can see, I have begun the knitting of the shoe bottoms for this set.

I have been getting inquiries about Grace's bag for Christmas gifts from people at her school.  Of course, I said that I could make them.    I have an order from one of the ladies at church for some key fobs(I only sell those locally and have never put them in my Etsy shop).  I have a custom order for hand knit baby pants and a coordinating onese.  My list of to-do's is steadily growing.  I see some sleepless nights in my future.

Until the next post,  I bid you adieu!

Lil' Elf Hat

This little hat has been fun to knit. I am writing the pattern as I go and I really like how it is turning out. Today I decided that I will make socks to be worn with this hat and market it to newborns (or rather their parents or friends :-) ) I am using Tahki Cotton Classic yarn which is one of my all time favorites. It shows such good stitch definition and is kind to babies due to the fact that it is 100% cotton. It's also thick enough to provide warmth.

This particular hat is very small. I have placed it over a decorative crystal egg that has the circumference of only 12". If I don't decide to frog it, it will be intended for a preemie baby.

I also worked on my sock last night and I am just about to begin the short-row heel. I plan to get that done today and will show it tomorrow.

I will be hosting a give-away sometime very soon. I'm trying to decide what to give away. I'm not sure if it will be yarn, or a project bag, or a baby item. At some point I will have done all three. It's fun to get free things! Keep looking out for it.

Christmas yarn

In keeping with the crafty Christmas theme of the last few days, this yarn from the last dye session, is red, green, and pink. It is my all time favorite and will be used to make some Christmas socks. I have been looking through this old book that I purchased from the library for stitch patterns and will design something for these myself.

I like the way that it is patterned when knit. I will still need to do some tweaking on the dye processes. Can't tell if I want a slight variegation, or stripes, or what. I do love this yarn and I'm looking forward to seeing it in a finished pair of socks.

Can't spare much time. Have a spectacular weekend!

Christmas Knitting...

... has begun. My plan is to do some assembly line type knitting on the baby booties. All of the parts are being knit and I will assemble them during some TV time in the evenings. I have the tops and backs for one pair complete and have just started the sole. A trip to my local yarn store is on my to-do list so that I can acquire more yarn in Christmas colors. I also may make matching hats.

The baby pants are being made in the 12 months size. I don't think I will make them 12 - 18 months since they will likely not get that much wear. These will be listed in my Etsy store as made per order. I don't want to stock a lot of Christmas pants, but I will make a certain number for the Craft Fair that I will be working in November.

I bought fabric today and I found some that will work well for embellishing the bodysuit that will be worn with those black and white striped pants with the aqua ruffles. Lots to do. Have a super day.
