We Call Them Project Bags

Tomorrow is the big day!!  I will be selling my handknits, bags, wiipe cases, etc... at a local marketplace that is entitled "The Market.  It is a high-end designer's mall and I am hyped.  I just finished project bags--that is what they are to us knitters, non knitters just call them cute little bags.  They just need to be ironed and tagged.  I am ready now to make organizer type bags and hope to show a picture of them soon.

I've got lot's more sewing to do.  Just wanted to do a quick post.  Take care everyone, have a super day!!

New Fabric

Quilt Works is, for me, a candy store, where time and responsibility just slips away. My plan is to make more project bags. The plan has been put on hold, however, because I don't seem to have either of the two cutting mats that I had prior to moving.

My craft spaces, (it's nice to be able to put an "s" to indicate multiple spaces) is still unorganized. I really need suitable/cute storage bins. Everything is in either boxes or big plastic bins. No system, no rhyme or reason. Why do "people" say no rhyme or reason? What does it really mean? I don't know, but, in this case, it means that my stuff is a mess!

The fabric with the red/blue dots will be used to embellish baby tees. The rest will be used for bags. I guess I will have to buy new cutting mats. I'll bet that I find the old ones just as soon as I use the new ones. That sort of thing happens to me ALL of the time!

Have a great day!

Oh Brother!

I am giving the Brother sewing machine a work-out. I am sewing as fast as I can in preparation for the meeting with Keely (owner of Sealed With a Kiss Yarn Shop). There is some yarn that was dyed on my break from sewing and it's sitting in the garage waiting to be rinsed. In between all this sewing and dyeing I get a chance to eat every now and then. I've been so busy that I think that I've lost some weight. Can't be mad about that!
The quilted fabric that I used for this brown and blue bag is heavier than all of the others. I prefer the others though, because of the ease of construction. I had to change needle size to make this one, as it has more density, even though the quilt sandwich itself is actually thinner.

Also, with this bag, I went ahead and sewed in my label. I really don't know that I will permanently attach the name His Glory Hand Knits to the yarn, bags, and books. It will have to do for now because I will have to order more labels, plus I haven't thought of a new name yet.

Some of the bags that I am making will also eventually be listed with Etsy. I am trying not to over-extend myself. Have a terrific Tuesday.

Fabric Love

There are many different avenues of craftiness going on over here. I found some delightful fabric for knitting project bags. Can't wait to see how they turn out. I began cutting fabric on Thursday and I hope to get some sewing done this week. I've got to figure out how to use my serger. It's been sitting around over two years now. I'ts not that I'm afraid or anything. ;)

Since I will now embellish the bodysuits with fabric, I've also purchased some for those. I have some fun ideas for the bodysuits stirring around in my head and they want to get out. I will, hopefully, post pictures of Christmas baby booties and get them listed in my Etsy store this week. Have a happy Monday.
